Truly there is nothing new under the sun, especially in the last days. It is evident that current business practices are designed to enrich the owner even as their workers grow poorer. The new business model is to create a platform whereby one set of people can obtain goods or services from other people who actually provide those goods and offer those services.
Whether you need a ride, a room, or simply want something typed up, there is a platform to connect you with what you desire at the cheapest rate possible. And that is where the problem lies. I know from experience that this sort of business model uses up the resources of the worker and pays them a pittance of what is paid. And the companies which create the platform grows wealthier and wealthier by finding legal loopholes with which to avoid paying taxes for or providing materials, product, or benefits to the ones actually doing the labor.
“Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the laborers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.
Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton;”
God sees and notes injustice. Continually in the scriptures he chides those who cheat their workers and hold back their wages. We are enjoined to be patient and wait for the coming of the Lord.
Just as the farmer shows patience for the coming of his crop, we are to show patience for the coming of our Lord.
“Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned; behold, the judge standeth before the door.”
