In John 1 it reads “Jesus was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in the darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not.”
God created light on the first day… “and it was good.”
Did you notice God hasn’t created the sun yet? Jesus is the light of the world, not the sun.
But, how did he do that? I don’t know. But a God who creates what is out of what is not, is not going to have a problem with making light without an obvious light source. Heaven doesn’t have a sun. The New Jerusalem is not going to have a sun either, because God himself will be its light.
Consider that once you have a light side and a dark side on a rotating planet – you have the first evening, and the first morning.
The First Day ever. Time has begun.
Just for us, God created time. Heaven doesn’t have time. And because there was a first day, there will be a last day. And time will end.
1st day many days last day eternity
If you read the bible beginning to end without stopping, you’ll notice a consistent storyline. The bible is the history of mankind, in time, from our beginning to our end. And beyond.
Genesis is a revelation of how everything began.
The last days are revelations of how everything will end.
God has a plan. He always had.
